The GIY Gathering 2012

Be Inspired, Be Informed. Be at the GIY Gathering 2012! The 4th annual GIY Gathering takes place on the 15th and 16th of September, coinciding with of the Waterford Harvest Festival (10th-16th September) in Waterford City. Waterford Harvest Festival is a city wide festival celebrating food heritage and culture. It recreates a modern version of the traditional harvest celebratory and feasting period, with foodie fun and educational events for all the family and entertainment across the city.

This year's GIY Gathering 2012 has a truly international feel, bringing together some of the world's leading experts and advocates on food growing from Ireland, UK, US and New Zealand. A Speaker includes BBC Gardeners World presenter, former River Cottage head gardener and the inspiration behind Michelle Obama's White House veg garden! We've got talks and discussions on Self sufficiency, thrifty gardening, Keeping Hens, Herbs, Fruit, Plolytunnel Growing, Creative Vegatable Gardening, Beekeeping, Composting, Growing for Nuitrition, Growing in small spaces and much more. The GIY Gathering takes place during the Waterford Harvest Festival.
