Many people will come across injured wildlife in their locality. The IWRT have provided just the event for you if you want to find out what you need to do in these situations. Many veterinary practitioners too see treating wildlife as a challenge; adding variety to the job. We are offering a unique educational opportunity for vets and vet nurses to learn more about treating the wildlife casualties that inevitably arrive on the clinic doorstep.
This is an opportunity for anyone with an interest in wildlife welfare and/or conservation to learn more about treating wildlife casualties; wildlife natural history & conservation; post release monitoring; and wildlife crime. The IWRT will again be providing two streams of talks and practical sessions in order to provide both basic and advanced training. The content of Stream 2 changes annually to provide as broad an educational opportunity as possible. They again have an exciting programme with another line-up of engaging, professional, national and international speakers.
This year the IWRT will have an additional timely and topical session on red squirrels, an opportunity to badger a badger expert, and a detailed look into the secretive life of the hedgehog, and due to popular demand; even more time for practical sessions. Speakers are from as far afield as Canada and will be covering topics such as wildlife handling and restraint, common conditions, detailed treatment options, post-release monitoring, wildlife crime and more.
There will be even more stalls, a selection of superb raffle prizes, and in the evening a glimpse into the secret life of bee’s, some expert wildlife photography tips, and even a chance to join the IWRT and Conor Kelleher for an evening bat talk and walk!
We look forward to seeing you there!
