Keelings Harvest First Irish Aubergines

Keelings, the 100% Irish family owned company and experts in fresh produce, have just harvested their first crop of Irish aubergines. The Irish aubergines were planted in December and harvesting season will run from March through to the end of October with the use of its state-of-the-art glasshouses in St Margaret’s, Co. Dublin.

Irish aubergines are 2 days fresher than those coming from Holland so, not only are consumers saving food miles and supporting Irish jobs, but by buying Irish, they are guaranteed fresher produce. There are two excellent varieties being grown in the Keelings glasshouse and Keelings estimates that they will be picking 4 tonnes of Irish aubergines a week. Consumers will now be able to buy Irish aubergines well into the month of October, as a result of this Keelings growing initiative.
