Title: Invitation to tender for Soil Pit Excavation
Abstract: The Irish Soil Information System (ISIS) based at Teagasc, Johnstown Castle Environmental research centre invites tenders for the excavation of soil pits across the country from February 2013 to November 2013. These soil pits will be used for soil description, soil sampling and soil classification by our field staff. Soil pits will be described over a range of land-uses and private land, where prior permission has been sought. Each day, on average, two soil pits are completed. Site co-ordinates and details will be provided 2 weeks in advance of work commencing (however, replacement sites may be substituted at short notice within the locality).
