Title: Castleblayney Play Park
Abstract: Applications are invited from a Lead Economic Operator/Consortium to make a single appointment of an integrated project team, under the terms of the Short Public Works Contract, who wish to be considered for inclusion on a Select List for the following project: Castleblayney Play Park, SOS 004.
The project consists of two distinct elements construction and installation of Children’s Play Park under the auspices of Monaghan County Council and construction and installation of an adventure playground through Groundwork NI. Both parties have come together as a consortium to deliver this project.
The project is for the provision of young children’s and adventure playgrounds set in amongst the existing trees and vegetation to maintain the woodland atmosphere of the site at Lough Muckno, Onomy, Castleblayney, County Monaghan.
The works will involve: protection of existing trees (young and mature alike), groundworks, grading, selective clearance of shrubs and felling of trees/trimming branches , drainage, hardcore fill, fencing to follow land forms, installation of play equipment, safety surfacing, planting, seeding and bitmac paths. In addition the scheme will involve management of construction traffic on the narrow public access to the site. There is Japanese Knotweed on the site and the contractor must avoid spread of this beyond the site.
