CAFRE Students Support National Conifer Week

Did you know that now is the best time of the year to plant conifers?
Students on the The Horticulture Foundation Degree course at CAFRE are supporting National Conifer Week which runs from 29 September to 7 October this year by planting a a specimen conifer at Greenmount. They have chosen a Cedrus atlantica ‘Glauca Pendula’ a beautiful weeping blue cedar which like most conifers is hardy, easy to grow, long lasting and most importantly for many of todays gardeners, low maintainance whilst being high impact. So why not take the chance to plant a conifer this week in your garden. There are a vaste array of shapes and sizes to chose from dwarf ones that are suitable for a rockery or container to huge forest sized trees.
