GIMA Offers Training to Non-Members

The Garden Industry Manufacturers Association (GIMA) is opening up its training to the wider sector, not just its members. The latest course, a one-day time management session, is available to garden industry suppliers, retailers, growers and more.

GIMA describes the opportunity as a "highly interactive and enjoyable course [which] will help you understand the fundamental principles of time management and personal effectiveness, where all your time is going and why."

Attendees will learn how to eliminate interruptions and delegate low-priority tasks to others, as well as how to recognise and protect high-value tasks and make sure they are done well and on time, said the association.

GIMA director Neil Gow said: "It is superb value for money even for non-members of GIMA, as the facilities and, more importantly, the trainer are first class. Details of the event have been circulated to officials in GCA, HTA, Gardenex and BHETA."

The tutor for the day will be Brent Warren, who ran GIMA's time management breakfast briefing event last year. Mr Warren is a tutor in management and leadership for the University of Nottingham as well as an experienced commercial trainer with a blue chip client base.
