Call for Submissions for New Garden Book

The authors of a new book on front gardens are asking designers to submit their work for consideration.. Writer Annie Gatti and landscape designer Deborah Nagan are compiling a new book on front gardens and are looking for gardens to feature.

The authors are looking for gardens that fit within the following themes:

• Eco (front gardens that have been made with environmental considerations to the fore)
• Edible (front gardens where there's an edible element)
• Richly planted
• Formal
• Front gardens with clever or attractive ways of dealing with practicalities, such as storage, car parking, bikes, security
• Front gardens that are fully open to passersby and where plants tumble over the boundary wall or fence
• Private front gardens where the owners can sit and enjoy their peaceful plot
• Front gardens with a sense of drama
• Linked gardens where a few properties on the same road have embraced front gardening simultaneously. In this category, the authors will include front gardens to apartment blocks, especially where there is a community gardening element.

Nagan has said that they are not looking for gardens that are so large and expansive that they don't really look like front gardens, nor those with gardens that have little or no planting.

All designers will be credited in the book. If you have images of a front garden that you would like to submit, please send low-res images and supporting information to Deborah Nagan

Images do not have to be professional, as any gardens selected will be photographed this season.
