One 2 One Forestry Clinics
- 30 January 2012
A nationwide series of One 2 One forestry clinics organised by the Teagasc Forestry Development Department will run in February.
Farmers and landowners seeking independent advice and up to date information on planting and managing forestry and trees areinvited to attend the free clinics in local Teagasc offices throughout the country and avail of a one to one consultation with an experienced Teagasc forestry adviser.
Planting land can have many benefits but is a huge decision for farm families. Getting the right advice and information is critical to making the best decision for the future and attending a local clinic will be an important first step.
Similarly, an increasing number of forest owners are now preparing to thin and may have many questions about how to thin, building a forest road, applying for a felling licence and who will carry out the harvesting and buy the timber. All of these questions can be addressed during a free consultation.
There is now greater focus on the financial returns from forestry. During a consultation the potential returns from a forestry enterprise can be analysed using a forestry investment programme developed by Teagasc Forestry. The information provided can help to make informed economic decisions about forestry as a viable enterprise and future forest management decisions
Most consultations will take place in your local Teagasc office between 10 am and 4pm. To book your one to one consultation, please consult the table below for details of locations, dates and contact details.
Please bring maps and other relevant information/correspondence.
This is a great opportunity to get answers to your forestry questions – don’t miss it!
