Horticulture in the Dail - Ministerial Responsibilities for Horticulture

To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine the exact portfolio and responsibility arrangements that are to be transferred from him, to the new Minister of State at his Department following the Junior Minister's appointment in June 2013; when the legal documentation providing for such transfer will be signed; if a statutory instrument, the Delegation of Ministerial Functions has to be enacted before the new Minister of State can take up their role; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

As Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine I retain overall responsibility for all the functions of my Department. Statutory powers and duties in relation to Forestry, Horticulture, the Greyhound Industry and Food Safety will be delegated to the Minister Hayes. A Delegation of Ministerial Functions Order is being prepared.
